Beta Bag Porting

 An original application that was instrumental in the development of Soft Punch tools is the modification of Beta Bags. Modifying Beta bags to add tubing ports enables sterile, closed-system fluid transfers directly into isolators or cleanrooms.

 

The challenge in adding one or more ports to an existing Beta Bag is how to safely create a hole in an already closed bag structure. Hand held hammer punches can be a risky preposition, as errors could turn a new Beta Bag into costly scrap . As shown in the slides below, Soft Punch tools easily, quickly & safely cut the required hole(s) on one face of the Beta Bag, while leaving the other side perfectly intact.
